Advanced Studies & Teacher TrainingA Yoga Teacher Training program is more than just a certification to teach. It is a journey of self-discovery that will connect you with your deepest values and liberate your authentic voice. The Your Yoga 230-Hour Advanced Studies and Teacher Training Program is widely acclaimed and well-respected throughout the yoga community. We are known for our commitment to excellence with regards to the technical skills necessary to teach yoga, and for our empowering personal approach.
For those who do wish to teach, the Your Yoga training is certified by Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level, and approved by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education. Your Yoga graduates have an excellent track record in securing teaching jobs. Our alumni are also renowned for making a difference for their families, friends, colleagues and communities.
Application and TuitionAll applications are externally refereed. We look for applicants with a deep connection to the practice (which doesn't necessarily mean you've been practicing a long time), and an understanding and appreciation of the Your Yoga approach. We keep the training as affordable as possible given the significant resources required to offer such a comprehensive program. There are three ways to make your investment:
- Pay 50% down early, and the remaining 50% before the training starts to receive the early bird rate of $1950
- Pay in full by the start of the training to receive the basic rate of $2450
- Pay at least $775 before the training starts, and then pay the rest over time with a payment plan.
Essentially, the training constitutes a two month immersion in the practice, history, embodiment and communication of yoga. It is a whole-person experience that will leave you healed, opened, rejuvenated and inspired.

About Our TrainingYour Yoga's 230-Hour Advanced Studies & Teacher Training program attracts students from across the United States and even overseas. Participants are attracted by our rare blend of in-depth study and personal growth. Here are some of the benefits you can expect from the Your Yoga training experience.
Personal AttentionIn keeping with our broader mission as a studio, the 230-Hour Teacher Training program is crafted to help people flourish both as individuals and within a community. Yoga teacher training is a deeply personal experience, yet many larger programs can feel quite anonymous. At Your Yoga, we limit each training group to a maximum of 12. This allows us to be highly selective, and give each participant personalized, in-depth attention and feedback.
We've found this is also the perfect size group to foster a sense of shared purpose and togetherness. The full-group sessions are large enough to have a diversity of viewpoints yet intimate enough for everyone to participate. The bi-weekly evening meetings provide an opportunity to bond in a smaller group of 3-4 people, and to work on crafting your own unique message and voice as a teacher.
Unique Understanding of the Physical PracticeYour Yoga's approach to the physical practice of yoga blends extensive knowledge of traditional asana forms, contemporary movement modalities, biomechanics and anatomy. As a graduate of the Your Yoga 230-Hour Teacher Training Program you can feel confident in the knowledge that you've received the best available education in the physical practice for a training of this level.

Tradition Meets InnovationFor many trainees, the history and philosophy sessions are among the highlights of the program. Many teacher training programs aim to synthesize the various diverse strands of traditional yoga into a single vision. In contrast, the Your Yoga program tries to unpack the different historical trends and explore each on its own terms rather than trying to shoehorn sometimes incompatible ideas together.
During the training, you will learn how the 8-Limbed Yoga system of Patanjali grew out of Buddhist, Jain and ascetic traditions in or around the second century B.C. You will contrast this vision of yoga, which aims at transcending mundane life, with systems that try to infuse daily living with mysticism and intention. This will include yoga literature that pre-dates Patanjali, as well as later systems that evolved both inside and outside of India.
You will study and discuss the many ways in which yoga adapted to British colonial rule and Indian independence. And finally, you will explore how yoga's migration to the West represents both a departure from the past and yet in many ways a return to some of yoga's roots that were lost in the colonial period.
Personal Growth"Even as love is for your growth, so is he for your pruning."
- Kahlil Gibran "On Love" from The Prophet
A yoga teacher training is an investment in your knowledge and skill set. But even more than that, it is an investment in yourself. We hope you are considering the Your Yoga 230-Hour Teacher Training because yoga has had a deep and lasting impact in your own life. Whether or not you decide to teach after you graduate, the program is designed to take you on a profound healing journey of your own so that you can connect with your highest joy and touch the center of your sorrow. This may involve group activities as well as personal reflection exercises.
That means there will be parts of the training that may be uncomfortable. However, all such experiences will be set against a backdrop of empathy, support and understanding from the Your Yoga Teacher Training Team. In a world where people are generally encouraged to ignore their feelings or channel them in destructive ways, yoga teacher training should be a safe space to explore our inner world more deeply than the status quo permits, and to meet each other and ourselves with courage, kindness, and forgiveness.
